Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 6thth minute of the game Humberto Urbes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Blues's Ariel Etor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amado Bernal came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by The Blues's Flavio Froylan. But to his dismay, Flavio Froylan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Damaso Maiorga got a free kick in the 9th minute. Fernan Fonda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ariel Etor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ermegildo Santo in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Etor saved The Blues from getting behind. Ariel Etor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Santo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the game, Ismael Tiniebra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Blues's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Velez Sarsfield the free kick. After a rather tough play, The Blues's Ismael Tiniebra got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute, Flavio Froylan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Blues fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Luciano Soter's late challenge caught a The Blues's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luciano Soter helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Luciano Soter hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Fernan Fonda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ariel Etor was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Flavio Froylan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 50th minute, Omar Savier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amado Bernal was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ermegildo Santo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, The Blues's Agustin Herrera got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Fernan Fonda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Etor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64thth minute of the game Ermegildo Santo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Blues's Ariel Etor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernan Fonda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the game, Velez Sarsfield's Ermegildo Santo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ariel Etor made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. If Ermegildo Santo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Velez Sarsfield's Fernan Fonda got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76thth minute of the game Ermegildo Santo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Blues's Ariel Etor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Ermegildo Santo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to The Blues getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Efrain Banegas hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's Eloy Vermudo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The Blues's Ariel Etor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernan Fonda in the 93rd minute of play. Amado Bernal was a little too slow when Omar Savier got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 4-4. Velez Sarsfield were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing The Blues to leave the ground with a draw.
