Morrillo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sarmiento the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Morrillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natalio Mero to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Sergio Lauro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teo Marcones was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Maximiliano Urre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnaldo Musko to make the kick off. Jeremias Barea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geronimo Cordeara, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. A collision led to Morrillo getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Tobias Rozarius hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sarmiento players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Morrillo.
