With a left leg Urbano Atarratze saved Saguión AFC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Tilcara Paraná ER's zone, Silvano Estebano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Goyo came out of the goal and Silvano Estebano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Silvano Estebano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Maximo Goyo. That made the score 2-1 in the 27 minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Saguión AFC's Rafael Veremundo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximo Goyo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Luisito Azeari's late challenge caught a Tilcara Paraná ER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luisito Azeari helped the player get up and apologised. 41 minutes into the match, Tilcara Paraná ER's Primitivo Urtsua broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The Saguión AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Urbano Atarratze should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domingo Erasto was the one to do the kick off.
