In the 4th minute, Eloy Teodor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Vinicio Gudesteo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Cruz. RIVER PLATE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinicio Gudesteo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. A collision led to RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Eloy Teodor hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Ruben Guillem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Salvador Muno came free, but Ricardo Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. RIVER PLATE's Ricardo Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Guillem in the 19th minute of play. If Arnoldo Urbez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnoldo Urbez in the 40th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serafin Iruinea made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Dalmau during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gabriel Dalmau kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After having played for 58 minutes, Ruben Guillem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Las Prefiero Morochas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruben Guillem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Vinicio Gudesteo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Cruz was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. 62 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Guillem came free, but Ricardo Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. RIVER PLATE were furious when Gabriel Mambru was red carded, 65 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in RIVER PLATE fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! Ricardo Cruz had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Delmiro Silviano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 67th minute, Delmiro Silviano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 71st minute, Vinicio Gudesteo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Las Prefiero Morochas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Ricardo Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Guillem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Cruz came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Las Prefiero Morochas's Arnoldo Urbez. But to his dismay, Arnoldo Urbez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Eloy Teodor hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Gudesteo in the 92nd minute of play forced RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Ricardo Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Las Prefiero Morochas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
