After 11 minutes, Filiberto Otsando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the diablos and the Sambuca FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th minute, Filiberto Otsando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Gerardo Medina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Cesaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. diablos's José Pedro Lago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimeno Casomiro in the 19th minute of play. The diablos fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when diablos's Gerardo Medina looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Celedonio Berart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but José Pedro Lago made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Sambuca FC's Ambrosio Conrao got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Samuel Vincente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Julio Cesaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the match, diablos's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Casomiro came free, but José Pedro Lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Gerardo Medina put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Cesaro. Julio Cesaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerardo Medina's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Manex in the 63rd minute of play forced diablos's goalkeeper José Pedro Lago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugenio Mendebal struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Julio Cesaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for diablos. José Pedro Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Casomiro in the 71st minute of play. In the 71st minute Jimeno Casomiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Lago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Cesaro made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Esteban Hitz sent off a good shot on target. After 76 minutes, Gerardo Medina made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Sambuca FC's Julio Cesaro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Anselmo Patrido hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Sambuca FC's Julio Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteban Hitz in the 83rd minute of play. diablos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Esteban Hitz in the 85th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sambuca FC's goalie and right to Jan-Joost Wellens. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sambuca FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Julio Cesaro came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by diablos's Eugenio Mendebal. But to his dismay, Eugenio Mendebal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerardo Medina in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Cesaro saved Sambuca FC from getting behind. In the 97th minute Jan-Joost Wellens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Cesaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over diablos could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sambuca FC throughout the match.
