After 33 minutes of play, Falopa y Fernet's Ceferino Xabel made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugenio Ibar was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 36 played minutes Falopa y Fernet got a freekick which was hit by Gavino Montes. When Uriel Jerrald fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Durazno FC's protests and gave Uriel Jerrald a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Durazno FC's Eugenio Ibar got control of the ball when Ruperto Lalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ceferino Xabel to strike the kick off in the second half. Falopa y Fernet's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruperto Lalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Ibar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Ceferino Hug ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Paublo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 74th minute Ruperto Lalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Ibar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
