After 15 played minutes, FERRO FC's Anibal Cordairo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fausto Frichoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FERRO FC reached it. Genaro Transito made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Roman Jayvier sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to FERRO FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Tiburcio Jerano hit a great ball. Joaquin Fagondo struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Genaro Transito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Villa Mitre. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Melquiades Perfecto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genaro Transito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Teofilo Neron fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Villa Mitre's protests and gave Teofilo Neron a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Villa Mitre fans cheered their team off the field, for while FERRO FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
