When Edelmiro Teofilio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 17 minutes had been played. In the 18th minute, Edelmiro Teofilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the game, Anacleto Serafo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Machigasta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio de la Plata the free kick. In the 25th play minute Eliseo Videl came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Albano Llorienzo. 1-0. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rio de la Plata's goalkeeper Pascual Cresconio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Victoriano Valery's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pascual Cresconio was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pascual Cresconio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes into the match, Rio de la Plata's goalkeeper Pascual Cresconio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristobal Poz. Albano Llorienzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Videl in the 76th minute of play. Cristobal Poz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascual Cresconio having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Rio de la Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Fresco to maneuver through the defense. If Victoriano Valery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristobal Poz struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Pascual Cresconio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Machigasta.
