The audience was convinced that Benito Indar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermengildo Maidana was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. 13 minutes into the game, Severino Quintana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Islandia's Hermengildo Maidana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Indar in the 34th minute of play. Hermengildo Maidana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Quintana in the 36th minute of play. Hermengildo Maidana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Galeno in the 37th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Irons United's Benito Indar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hermengildo Maidana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Islandia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Irons United were winning 0-4.

In the 58th minute, Severino Quintana made a precise shot to the right of Hermengildo Maidana. Islandia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Severino Quintana's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hermengildo Maidana firmly grabbed it by the left post.
