Spectators: 7240 (Terracing: 5432, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dalmacio Faro started the match with the kick off. Gaston Medina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 4 played minutes Quilmes A.C got a freekick which was hit by Santiago Tomi. In the 6th minute, Dalmacio Faro made a precise shot to the right of Zeledon Milio. Quilmes A.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 14th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Breogan to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Martin Ongile managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quilmes A.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Ongile was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorino Lope breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victorino Lope made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edgard Loren in the 21st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Quilmes A.C's Martin Ongile slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Victorino Lope. That made the score 1-1 after 24 minutes of play. Edgard Loren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Victorino Lope tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Loren might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victorino Lope. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgard Loren ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 31st minute, Quilmes A.C's Martin Ongile dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. River Plate's Victorino Lope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Ongile in the 35th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Edgard Loren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorino Lope came out of the goal and Edgard Loren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santiago Tomi kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Zeledon Milio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmacio Faro in the 49th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Sergio Transito took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victorino Lope. Victorino Lope dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Constantino Breogan charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Constantino Breogan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 61 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Constantino Breogan. In the 64th minute of the match Quilmes A.C got a corner. River Plate's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Santiago Tomi ran over to the corner to take the kick. 68 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Loren came free, but Victorino Lope reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Urko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victorino Lope read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Zeledon Milio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmacio Faro, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute, Sergio Transito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgard Loren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Julian Gaspard hit a great ball. In the 89th minute Edgard Loren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Lope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Martin Ongile came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Quilmes A.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Ongile couldn't finish the play. Dalmacio Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Milio having to interfere. There was no doubt that Quilmes A.C were the better team. Quilmes A.C's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
