Zeledon Milio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Ongile in the 41st minute of play. Edgard Loren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Jaen having to interfere. Sergio Transito was shown his second yellow card after 47 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 48 played minutes Quilmes A.C got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Transito.

Quilmes A.C's Martin Ongile got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ectopicos FC's zone, Martin Ongile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Jaen came out of the goal and Martin Ongile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute Edgard Loren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Jaen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Ongile received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Flavio Jaen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Urko in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Jaen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Constantino Macerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Zeledon Milio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
