After 17 minutes, Santos Gelmiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amberes FC and the Córdoba AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Amberes FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Santos Gelmiro hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Patricio Urdaspal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute, one of Amberes FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Amberes FC. The goalkeeper, Marcial Salomone, was totally fooled by Córdoba AFC's Nunez Fonso, who 21 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Marcial Salomone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Higinio Lucian in the 24th minute of the match. Erasmo Xabel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Higinio Lucian came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Córdoba AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Higinio Lucian couldn't finish the play. Higinio Lucian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erasmo Xabel made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Melchor Txerran in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcial Salomone saved Amberes FC from getting behind. Marcial Salomone came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Córdoba AFC's Patricio Urdaspal. But to his dismay, Patricio Urdaspal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 63 minutes into the match, Córdoba AFC's Higinio Lucian sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcial Salomone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benedicto Cuarto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafin Fortun having to interfere. The supporters of Córdoba AFC booed when Amberes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Segundo Vigil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Córdoba AFC's Nunez Fonso couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Amberes FC. Marcial Salomone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Urdaspal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patricio Urdaspal struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Marcial Salomone didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Córdoba AFC. If Patricio Urdaspal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedicto Cuarto got free with Serafin Fortun in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
