The referee ignored Pampa Plate's protests and gave Nemesio Tauro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, one of Pampa Plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pampa Plate. A collision led to Sporting Club The Dead getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Delmar Quintyn hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Antonio Lia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Gaizkine, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Lucas Salomon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Club The Dead's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Salomon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luisito Barrionuevo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Pello having to interfere. The nice shot from Luisito Barrionuevo in the 81stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Freddy Pello had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Angel Hibai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilfredo Oliveiro in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonio Lia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 87th minute Angelo Gaizkine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Lia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
