Spectators: 7200 (Terracing: 5402, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 142) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vicente Cordaro kicked off to start the match. In the 4th match minute, Jockey Club Villa Maria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nemesio Rosario to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute of the match Los Pibes F.C. got a corner. Jockey Club Villa Maria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ulises Soter ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gustavo Lluc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute, Gustavo Lluc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 18th minute, Lucas Vellito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulises Soter was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gervasio Hug fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Raulo having to interfere. When Gervasio Hug came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Los Pibes F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gervasio Hug couldn't finish the play. Osvaldo Raulo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gervasio Hug, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Fausto Aimar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Cordaro in the 34th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jockey Club Villa Maria's zone, Gervasio Hug stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Raulo came out of the goal and Gervasio Hug tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rafael Azubeli's late challenge caught a Jockey Club Villa Maria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael Azubeli helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd match minute, Los Pibes F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Azubeli to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes into the match, Los Pibes F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Cordaro came free, but Fausto Aimar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Gustavo Lluc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacobo Indalecio charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacobo Indalecio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Los Pibes F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jacobo Indalecio. Los Pibes F.C.'s Fausto Aimar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Jaunzuria in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Jockey Club Villa Maria booed when Los Pibes F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Indalecio didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaston Jaunzuria in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto Aimar saved Los Pibes F.C. from getting behind. Vicente Cordaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Aimar having to interfere. Gaston Jaunzuria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vicente Cordaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobo Indalecio hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. A collision led to Los Pibes F.C. getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Alfonso Belarmo hit a great ball. Fausto Aimar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Jaunzuria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes Los Pibes F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ubaldo Arnau who took care of the corner kick. In the 86th minute, Jacobo Indalecio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaston Jaunzuria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Fausto Aimar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Cordaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vicente Cordaro struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Fausto Aimar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jockey Club Villa Maria. Fausto Aimar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Jaunzuria in the 96th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
