Intersport FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jockey Club Villa Maria the free kick. The referee gave Jockey Club Villa Maria a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ubaldo Arnau, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Intersport FC's Rogelio Bihar. 1-1. In the 21st match minute, Jockey Club Villa Maria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Arnau to maneuver through the defense. Niceto Montrelle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Osvaldo Raulo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Intersport FC's Niceto Montrelle got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Cornelio Timo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Intersport FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cornelio Timo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldo Raulo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute Cornelio Timo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Raulo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute of the match Urbano Flores shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osvaldo Raulo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cornelio Timo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Vicente Cordaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Niceto Montrelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Vicente Cordaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jockey Club Villa Maria's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Cordaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rogelio Bihar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Jockey Club Villa Maria's Horacio Jaunzuria got a free kick in the 59th minute. Cornelio Timo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Osvaldo Raulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Montrelle in the 74th minute of play. Gogo Montae was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 76 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the game, Jockey Club Villa Maria's Ubaldo Arnau nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogelio Bihar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Urbano Flores charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Urbano Flores the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 played minutes Intersport FC got a freekick which was hit by Urbano Flores. In the 89th match minute, Intersport FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Quirce to maneuver through the defense. After 92 played minutes Intersport FC got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Quirce. Jockey Club Villa Maria's Vicente Cordaro got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Intersport FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
