Fausto Aimar made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Horacio Lope sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Gustavo Lluc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Pibes F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Lluc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herminio Chuse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Victor Tancredo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fausto Aimar was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. With a little luck, Los Pibes F.C.'s Fausto Aimar got control of the ball when Samuel Atauri tried to sneak it across the goal line. Herminio Chuse came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Pibes F.C.'s Gustavo Lluc. But to his dismay, Gustavo Lluc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 22nd match minute, Los Pibes F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacobo Indalecio to maneuver through the defense. Victor Tancredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Aimar having to interfere. Victor Tancredo succeeded in the game's 26th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Atauri got free with Fausto Aimar in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Victor Tancredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fausto Aimar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Tancredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 43 minutes, Gustavo Lluc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Pibes F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Lluc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Lluc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herminio Chuse having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Lluc to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Gervasio Hug kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Herminio Chuse. That made the score 1-2 in the 53 minute of play. Horacio Lope kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Herminio Chuse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustavo Lluc's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Villa Aguirre's goalkeeper Herminio Chuse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 66 played minutes Deportivo Villa Aguirre got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Lope. If Gustavo Lluc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st match minute, Los Pibes F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulises Soter to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Deportivo Villa Aguirre's Emiliano Gaxan in action when he in the 73rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Fausto Aimar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Atauri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emiliano Gaxan kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Gervasio Hug fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herminio Chuse having to interfere. The supporters of Los Pibes F.C. booed when Deportivo Villa Aguirre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Lope didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herminio Chuse made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Gervasio Hug sent off a good shot on target. Herminio Chuse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Lluc in the 93rd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Los Pibes F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
