After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Jonas Kelemen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Alejandría F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas Kelemen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Iigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Godofredo Presebal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Ipar in the 36th minute of play. Roman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Ipar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 51 minutes had been played when some careless play by Roman's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ildefonso Fonda was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Alejandría F.C's players had a chance to rest. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
