The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Angelo Orlo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvano Cristofol in the 4th minute of the match. Lehmann's Angelo Orlo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Cristofol in the 13th minute of play. Fernan Mikelar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Angelo Orlo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvano Cristofol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Orlo having to interfere. Angelo Orlo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernan Mikelar in the 26th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Lehmann got a freekick which was hit by Marco Cortez. Lehmann's Angelo Orlo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernan Mikelar in the 30th minute of play. Angelo Orlo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvano Cristofol, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Everardo Marz got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for Racing Club. Raul Etxepare stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Angelo Orlo. 0-2. Silvano Cristofol hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Racing Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 56th minute, Zacarias Cesaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hector Henry hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Fernan Mikelar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Angelo Orlo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Silvano Cristofol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Fernan Mikelar notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Lehmann's Angelo Orlo. Angelo Orlo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match was over Racing Club could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lehmann throughout the match.
