A collision led to Nagoya Grampus Eight getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Fermin Egun hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Freddy Farias sped through Nagoya Grampus Eight's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Celedonio Servando. After 20 played minutes Nagoya Grampus Eight got a freekick which was hit by Astor Frutos. 21 minutes into the match, Leitium FC's Natalio Tolino broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 30 minutes, Baltasar Bide managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nagoya Grampus Eight's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltasar Bide was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Nagoya Grampus Eight's Celedonio Servando got control of the ball when Conrado Estebe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Freddy Farias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Celedonio Servando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celedonio Servando was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Freddy Farias to make the kick off. Albano Quiroga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Bartoleme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Florentino Goito kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. A hard shot 76 in the game by Baltasar Bide from a close distance when the talented Rafael Bartoleme managed to make a qualified save. Leitium FC's players were relieved. If Florentino Goito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
