Roque Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roque Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Israel Tallia during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Israel Tallia kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. A collision led to Charrillos getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Omar Tohias hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baltasar Bide in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faustino Pello saved Charrillos from getting behind. Faustino Pello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Quiroga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teodosio Jerico struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Celedonio Servando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Charrillos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albano Quiroga in the 48th minute of play forced Charrillos's goalkeeper Faustino Pello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albano Quiroga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Teodosio Jerico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Servando having to interfere. If Albano Quiroga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nagoya Grampus Eight's Celedonio Servando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Orlandus in the 68th minute of play. In the 68th match minute, Nagoya Grampus Eight was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Frutos to maneuver through the defense. Faustino Pello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Quiroga in the 70th minute of play. Baltasar Bide who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Faustino Pello when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Israel Orlandus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Celedonio Servando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Albano Quiroga came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Nagoya Grampus Eight fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albano Quiroga couldn't finish the play. Baltasar Bide struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. During the 87th minute of the match Astor Frutos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Astor Frutos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
