To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nagoya Grampus Eight's Celedonio Servando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Placido Conrao in the 31st minute of play. Saturnino Teodor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celedonio Servando having to interfere. Nagoya Grampus Eight's Celedonio Servando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Teodor in the 38th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Saturnino Teodor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celedonio Servando was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Romero FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnino Teodor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nagoya Grampus Eight's Albano Quiroga got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 93 played minutes Romero FC got a freekick which was hit by Anacleto Ramond. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Nagoya Grampus Eight had won after a very even match.
