With a little luck, Fiorentina's Jacinto Saturnin got control of the ball when Cipriano Argoitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulino Salvatore hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After 19 played minutes C.A.Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Honesto. 21 minutes into the game, Fiorentina's Adrian Urti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robustiano Ilazki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 26th minute of the match, Cipriano Argoitz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jacinto Saturnin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of C.A.Independiente booed when Fiorentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinicio Erasto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Filiberto Nesto sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Jacinto Saturnin threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Filiberto Nesto this time. Adrian Urti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robustiano Ilazki having to interfere. Fiorentina's Esteve Iliana got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Fiorentina were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zacarias Silvino made a kick off. Jacinto Saturnin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Argoitz in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Zacarias Silvino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Saturnin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robustiano Ilazki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteve Iliana, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Zacarias Silvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 played minutes Fiorentina got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Salvatore. C.A.Independiente's Cipriano Argoitz got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81stth minute of the game Zacarias Silvino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fiorentina's Jacinto Saturnin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zacarias Silvino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Saturnin having to interfere. Cipriano Argoitz struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Jacinto Saturnin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A.Independiente. Zacarias Silvino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Jacinto Saturnin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Argoitz in the 94th minute of play forced Fiorentina's goalkeeper Jacinto Saturnin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A.Independiente's Robustiano Ilazki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteve Iliana in the 96th minute of play. Fiorentina's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
