Virgilio Cebrian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Panqueua's Virgilio Cebrian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres Franco in the 19th minute of play. Geronimo Perico struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Virgilio Cebrian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Fulgencio. After a defensive mix-up in San Fulgencio's zone, Gaudencio Chesus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Veronica came out of the goal and Gaudencio Chesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melquiades Senon's late challenge caught a Panqueua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melquiades Senon helped the player get up and apologised. Melquiades Senon kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Domingo Mikeldi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panqueua's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingo Mikeldi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaudencio Chesus couldn't finish the play. Francisco Bakar struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Federico Veronica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panqueua. With his leg Federico Veronica managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Panqueua's Gaudencio Chesus fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaudencio Chesus to make the kick off. Panqueua's Francisco Bakar got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
