Spectators: 7267 (Terracing: 5452, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 144) River Plate's Florencio Vincente started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Matias Mendez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cosme Loreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Orland to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, River Plate's Cosme Loreto got control of the ball when Lino Rosario tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lino Rosario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Cosme Loreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 36 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Cristofor. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Matias Mendez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano de Córdoba's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Mendez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosme Loreto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41stth minute of the game Matias Mendez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Cosme Loreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Matias Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Matias Mendez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cosme Loreto came out of the goal and Matias Mendez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Mendez in the 57th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Cosme Loreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Adolfo Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Vincente in the 59th minute of play. Lino Rosario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 63 minutes, Florencio Vincente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the Belgrano de Córdoba players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Florencio Vincente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matias Mendez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Oliverio took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cosme Loreto. Cosme Loreto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 76 played minutes Belgrano de Córdoba got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Cloyo. 78 minutes in the game Dario Quexal got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. After having played for 80 minutes, Cecilio Onofre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cecilio Onofre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cecilio Onofre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but João Adolfo Lopez made a huge save. Lino Rosario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Cosme Loreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cosme Oliverio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 93 minutes, Matias Mendez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgrano de Córdoba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Mendez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cecilio Onofre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Lopez having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Belgrano de Córdoba had played much better football throughout.
