The crowd rose to their feet as River Plate's Florencio Vincente slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rene Ramone. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Vincente in the 12th minute of play forced VAC Zollner's goalkeeper Rene Ramone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. VAC Zollner's Rene Ramone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Vincente in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes in the game, Florencio Vincente fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rene Ramone having to interfere. Rene Ramone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Vincente in the 19th minute of play. Rene Ramone didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Natalio Giraldo went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Apolo Jorrin didn't quite understand what happened when in the 27 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Rene Ramone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Vincente in the 36th minute of play. Cosme Loreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Tavio in the 41st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in VAC Zollner's zone, Florencio Vincente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rene Ramone came out of the goal and Florencio Vincente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florencio Vincente to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Tavio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cosme Loreto having to make a save. VAC Zollner's Marcelo Tavio got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cecilio Onofre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelo Tavio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cosme Loreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Florencio Vincente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Ramone having to interfere. Many of VAC Zollner's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. VAC Zollner may have spent more time on the ball, but River Plate were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
