Eriberto Abastas hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes, Fermin Chucho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gimnasia LP and the Belgrano de Córdoba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Belgrano de Córdoba booed when Gimnasia LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fermin Chucho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 minutes, Celso Valente mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Belgrano de Córdoba and the Gimnasia LP players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Belgrano de Córdoba's Matias Mendez got a free kick in the 23rd minute. When Matias Mendez came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Belgrano de Córdoba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Mendez couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Gimnasia LP's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lino Rosario fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fabio Dalmau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Lopez having to interfere. Lino Rosario struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Victoriano Frutos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belgrano de Córdoba. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia LP's zone, Lino Rosario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victoriano Frutos came out of the goal and Lino Rosario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcos Veto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Lopez having to interfere. Fabio Dalmau recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabio Dalmau was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Valente came free, but Victoriano Frutos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Matias Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Dalmau received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Adolfo Lopez came out and tried to block the shot, but Fabio Dalmau slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 66th minute. The supporters of Belgrano de Córdoba booed when Gimnasia LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Natal didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Belgrano de Córdoba's Celso Valente in action when he in the 73rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Belgrano de Córdoba's Lino Rosario pulled a muscle in his back after 74 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Albino Bernat's late challenge caught a Belgrano de Córdoba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albino Bernat helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gimnasia LP's Albino Bernat got a free kick in the 75th minute. The supporters of Belgrano de Córdoba booed when Gimnasia LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto Abastas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victoriano Frutos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Matias Mendez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano de Córdoba's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Mendez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victoriano Frutos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Celso Valente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Belgrano de Córdoba's Celso Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 86 minutes of play, Belgrano de Córdoba's Matias Mendez made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victoriano Frutos was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Cosme Oliverio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Adrian Inko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Lopez having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
