An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Orland in the 18th minute of play forced Aicuña's goalkeeper Laureano Benitez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When 孔桦坤 got free in front of the goal in the 20th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Cosme Loreto was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Freddy Shepherd dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cosme Loreto, 2-0. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Natalio Giraldo got a free kick in the 28th minute. Bernardino Rojelio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cosme Loreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aicuña. If 孔桦坤 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddy Shepherd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 78th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natalio Giraldo to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that 孔桦坤's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cosme Loreto was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. A very good chance. Cosme Loreto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 孔桦坤's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. When Ismael Gasteiz fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Ismael Gasteiz a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cecilio Onofre got free with Laureano Benitez in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aicuña walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
