Eleuterio Menendo was a little too slow when Cipriano Goren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 2-0. When Cipriano Goren came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Cancún FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cipriano Goren couldn't finish the play. If Prospero Liberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Danilo Gurutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Baldovino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alfredo Urtzi came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Cancún FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Urtzi couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute Cipriano Goren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Menendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Prospero Liberto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eleuterio Menendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Goren, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Cipriano Goren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleuterio Menendo having to interfere. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lobocó FC's goalkeeper Eleuterio Menendo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cipriano Goren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Eleuterio Menendo made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Prospero Liberto made a kick off. Prospero Liberto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Baldovino having to interfere. When Laureano Lartaun fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lobocó FC's protests and gave Laureano Lartaun a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th match minute, Lobocó FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laureano Lartaun to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Abelardo Osorio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lobocó FC's Eleuterio Menendo didn't even have to move. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso Hibai during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Celso Hibai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Abelardo Osorio came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Cancún FC fans jumped to their feet. After 72 played minutes, Cancún FC's Victorio Endura shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eleuterio Menendo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cancún FC reached it. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Lobocó FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cancún FC:s goal. When Cancún FC's Victor Mannuel in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lobocó FC's goalie prevented a goal. Celso Hibai was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Cancún FC booed when Lobocó FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Hibai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eleuterio Menendo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Mannuel in the 80th minute of play. Eleuterio Menendo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Mannuel's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. When Cancún FC's Abelardo Osorio in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Cancún FC's Victor Mannuel, in the 91st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Cancún FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Mannuel in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eleuterio Menendo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 97 minutes into the match, Cancún FC's Victor Mannuel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eleuterio Menendo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cancún FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
