In the 12th minute, Maximo Maidana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 13 minutes into the game, one of C.A.Velez Sarsfield:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Celedonio Olando placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 17 minutes into the match, Ciro Quinten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prospero Sauveur. Victoria 's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Quinten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Quinten in the 24th minute of play forced Victoria 's goalkeeper Prospero Sauveur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albino Lorencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Eugenio Reynardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Abel Belasko. The supporters of C.A.Velez Sarsfield booed when Victoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celedonio Olando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro Quinten to make the kick off. Eugenio Reynardo didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Victoria 's Maximo Maidana shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 60th minute, C.A.Velez Sarsfield's Teobaldo Donostia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Teobaldo Donostia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. Maximo Maidana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the C.A.Velez Sarsfield players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Victoria .
