In the 5th minute of the match Modesto Pere shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lázaro Llope showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 7th minute, Lisandro Dolcet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lázaro Llope was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Lisandro Dolcet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cecilio Jurdan kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Lázaro Llope made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Dolcet in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Zárate booed when Salto AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Bero didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zárate's Lisandro Dolcet in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Salto AFC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Salto AFC's Cecilio Jurdan got a free kick in the 26th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Zárate's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Franco came free, but Reynaldo Mannuel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Zárate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmacio Marko to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Zárate's Delmiro Paulin got a free kick in the 36th minute. The Salto AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Zárate were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lisandro Dolcet made a kick off. When Lisandro Dolcet came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Zárate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lisandro Dolcet couldn't finish the play. In the 52nd minute, Mariano Bero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reynaldo Mannuel came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Salto AFC's Cipriano Franco. But to his dismay, Cipriano Franco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 62 minutes into the game, Salto AFC's Rolando Errapel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Mannuel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Lázaro Llope made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Teobaldo Tolino sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lisandro Dolcet in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lázaro Llope prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Salto AFC's Cecilio Jurdan got a free kick in the 68th minute. Reynaldo Mannuel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Franco, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. With his leg Lázaro Llope managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Zárate's Teobaldo Tolino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 84th minute, Roberto Patxi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Teobaldo Tolino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Salto AFC's goalkeeper Lázaro Llope, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Zárate failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
