After having played for 4 minutes, Cipriano Franco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salto AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cipriano Franco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolando Errapel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guillermo Magdaleno having to make a save. Lázaro Llope made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Eduardo Barea sent off a good shot on target. Huracán FC's Fabian Galsino shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 21st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Lázaro Llope but with some difficulty. The supporters of Huracán FC booed when Salto AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prospero Belmiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeo Enol in the 22nd minute of play forced Salto AFC's goalkeeper Lázaro Llope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tadeo Enol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rolando Errapel came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Salto AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolando Errapel couldn't finish the play. Lázaro Llope took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Enol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 49th minute, Eduardo Barea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Huracán FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tadeo Enol was the one to do the kick off. Mariano Bero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guillermo Magdaleno. Huracán FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 62nd minute Eduardo Barea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Llope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Rolando Errapel notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Huracán FC's Guillermo Magdaleno. Guillermo Magdaleno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cipriano Franco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Guillermo Magdaleno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Salto AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Americo Gorbea came free, but Lázaro Llope reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the game, Tadeo Enol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Lázaro Llope was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rolando Errapel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Guillermo Magdaleno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
