The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Braulio Chuan struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Rosendo Fernendo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibáñez. Rosendo Fernendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Etxepare, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ibáñez's zone, Albino Dantel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Menendo came out of the goal and Albino Dantel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Braulio Chuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th match minute, Deportivo Los Tingueros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melquiades Txordon to maneuver through the defense. Ezequiel Etxepare's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rosendo Fernendo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ibáñez's zone, Placido Egun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Menendo came out of the goal and Placido Egun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 28 minutes, Domingos Mendiko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibáñez and the Deportivo Los Tingueros players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leandro Menendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Egun, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Melquiades Txordon kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Deportivo Los Tingueros's goal looked a bit too open when Ezequiel Etxepare came free, but Rosendo Fernendo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Justo Gorosti fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Los Tingueros's protests and gave Justo Gorosti a yellow card for diving instead. Justo Gorosti hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Ibáñez were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Deportivo Los Tingueros's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Feliciano Misael took the corner. The corner led Ibáñez's Feliciano Misael to fire away a dangerous shot which Rosendo Fernendo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ezequiel Etxepare made a kick off. In the 50th match minute, Deportivo Los Tingueros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Egun to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Bakar hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. If Albino Dantel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosendo Fernendo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Etxepare in the 61st minute of play. Alejo Calvet kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezequiel Etxepare in the 65th minute of play forced Deportivo Los Tingueros's goalkeeper Rosendo Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rosendo Fernendo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Bakar in the 67th minute of play. Leandro Menendo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albino Dantel in the 70th minute of the match. After 75 minutes of play, Deportivo Los Tingueros's Placido Egun made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leandro Menendo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute Ezequiel Etxepare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Fernendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Deportivo Los Tingueros's goal looked a bit too open when Ezequiel Etxepare came free, but Rosendo Fernendo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ezequiel Etxepare had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Braulio Chuan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Deportivo Los Tingueros's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
