After a rather tough play, Hersilia's Jeremias Colon got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 11th minute Donato Harriet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Menendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Domingos Mendiko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the game, Donato Harriet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Leandro Menendo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Hersilia booed when Ibáñez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmacio Dalmau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anastasio Saturnin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Menendo having to interfere. Robustiano Precioso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Leandro Menendo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ezequiel Etxepare to strike the kick off in the second half. Leandro Menendo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anastasio Saturnin in the 53rd minute. If Braulio Chuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ezequiel Etxepare received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Baldomero Cebrian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Braulio Chuan spun around in front of the goal 64 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Hersilia's goal. Ibáñez's Braulio Chuan got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 78 minutes, Ezequiel Etxepare managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibáñez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ezequiel Etxepare was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Braulio Chuan scored 1-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baldomero Cebrian, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 88th minute Braulio Chuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Cebrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ezequiel Etxepare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ibáñez players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
