Evaristo Urtzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Gonzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Florencio Oliviero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Braulio Toli having to make a save. When Rolando Rico came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Chivo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolando Rico couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Chivo F.C.'s zone, Adan Gonzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evaristo Urtzi came out of the goal and Adan Gonzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Club Atletico Correa were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the match, Rolando Rico had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Braulio Toli. Club Atletico Correa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rolando Rico was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 58th minute of the game, Francisco Polo landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. In the 59th minute, Florencio Oliviero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geronimo Galsino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Evaristo Urtzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Carolo Eleazar put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Braulio Toli. 71 minutes into the game, Ramon Seber cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Evaristo Urtzi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Carolo Eleazar came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Chivo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carolo Eleazar couldn't finish the play. Ramon Seber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Rico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Braulio Toli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
