But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eleuterio Arce couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute of the match Teofilo Rodriguez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Justo Mano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Ramon Seber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
