An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Ibañez in the 20th minute of play forced The Wolf's goalkeeper Damian Natal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Banfield Oeste booed when The Wolf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florencio Ibañez scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damian Natal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Florencio Ibañez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Natal having to interfere. Damian Natal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Ibañez in the 40th minute of the match. Mariano Asier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Modesto Fortun to strike the kick off in the second half.
