After having played for 12 minutes, Pedro Guillelmus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.A. Estudiantes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Guillelmus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Guillelmus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Pedro Guillelmus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Urtungo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Cordarryl having to interfere. Artemio Kemen was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 32 minutes into the match. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Public Image Limited! The referee gave A.A. Estudiantes a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Teo Ignado, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Public Image Limited's Epifanio Cordarryl. 0-1. Teo Ignado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Epifanio Cordarryl. Public Image Limited's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Public Image Limited players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. A.A. Estudiantes were winning 0-1.

After 57 played minutes A.A. Estudiantes got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Fiz. In the 58th minute, Joaquin Levința got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 64 minutes of play, Public Image Limited's Justino Toribio made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Dayam was left in no man's land by his defense there! 69 minutes into the game, Fermin Liher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Benito Dayam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rene Urtungo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Guillelmus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Epifanio Cordarryl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rene Urtungo in the 77th minute. Benito Dayam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godfredo Fix, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Benito Dayam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fermin Liher in the 81st minute of the match. Godfredo Fix kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. A.A. Estudiantes's Pedro Guillelmus managed to work through Public Image Limited's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Pedro Guillelmus dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Rene Urtungo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Epifanio Cordarryl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.A. Estudiantes. Anacleto Fraco hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match.
