Rigoberto Mercurio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Etxepare having to interfere. In the 20th minute of the match, Rigoberto Mercurio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leon Etxepare saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Emanuel Tallia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leon Etxepare was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ildefonso Erramun. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wolves Ch's goalkeeper Benigno Abaunza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Delmar Mikelar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Emanuel Tallia came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Wolves Ch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Tallia couldn't finish the play. Emanuel Tallia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Leon Etxepare made a huge save. Wolves Ch's Rigoberto Mercurio got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute Rigoberto Mercurio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Etxepare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benigno Abaunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Fortun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benigno Abaunza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Fortun in the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Osvaldo Fortun to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Emanuel Tallia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolves Ch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Tallia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Rigoberto Mercurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvestre Tximitx during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th minute, Silvestre Tximitx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ildefonso Erramun charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ildefonso Erramun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of racing club booed when Wolves Ch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Erramun didn't get a good kick on the ball. racing club's Silvestre Tximitx shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 63rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Benigno Abaunza but with some difficulty. Emanuel Tallia might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leon Etxepare. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuel Tallia ran back to his position shaking his head. When Delmar Mikelar came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Wolves Ch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmar Mikelar couldn't finish the play. After recieving a nice pass, Wolves Ch's Jaime Peru tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Emanuel Tallia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 played minutes racing club got a freekick which was hit by Armando Gomesano. Wolves Ch's Benigno Abaunza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Wolves Ch from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Wolves Ch fans cheered their team off the field, for while racing club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
