The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Maderas AFC's zone, Severino Aragones stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ildefonso Moise came out of the goal and Severino Aragones tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 16 minutes Maderas AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Norberto Goiz who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Norberto Goiz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Maderas AFC's Ildefonso Moise did a great save. Placido Cordara took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ildefonso Moise. Ildefonso Moise dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Maderas AFC's Ildefonso Moise played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Placido Cordara in the 21st minute of play. Maderas AFC's Lucio Garin suffered a sore thigh after 23 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Norberto Goiz hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Maderas AFC were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Cruz de Hierro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cleto Remicio took the corner. The corner led Maderas AFC's Cleto Remicio to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnulfo Santio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Arnulfo Santio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelino Sidoro in the 29th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Severino Aragones sped through Maderas AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ildefonso Moise. Jonathan Tiadoro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute Severino Aragones suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 37 minutes, Emilio Estefan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maderas AFC and the Cruz de Hierro players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Maderas AFC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Emilio Estefan hit a great ball. Placido Cordara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ildefonso Moise tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luciano Lia hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 45th match minute, Maderas AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Lia to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Norberto Goiz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Maderas AFC's Ildefonso Moise didn't even have to move.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Placido Cordara was the one to do the kick off. Jonathan Tiadoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Santio having to interfere. When Luciano Lia fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maderas AFC's protests and gave Luciano Lia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Luciano Lia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute of the match Norberto Goiz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ildefonso Moise showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Arnulfo Santio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Maderas AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Cordara came free, but Ildefonso Moise reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cruz de Hierro walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
