In the 49th minute, one of Los gorgonitos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Los gorgonitos. Rodrigo Urtzi shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodrigo Urtzi to make the kick off. In the 59th minute of the match Eduardo Venceslao sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bonifacio Franco skillfully saved the ball. Bonifacio Franco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hector Donzel went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of La Gagoneta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Los gorgonitos:s goal. La Gagoneta:s Bonifacio Franco showed great skill when he stopped Erasmo Pero:s penalty. Aurelio Luken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in La Gagoneta's zone, Aurelio Luken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bonifacio Franco came out of the goal and Aurelio Luken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bonifacio Franco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Donzel in the 97th minute of the match. Aurelio Luken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Bonifacio Franco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. La Gagoneta's Bonifacio Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Donzel in the 101st minute of play. Los gorgonitos's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
