The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Severiano Llorienzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiberto Eate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Severiano Llorienzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliciano Salomone struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Ulises Maore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beatniks. Damian Serapio hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. When Severiano Llorienzo came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Analistas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severiano Llorienzo couldn't finish the play. Dario Estavan's late challenge caught a Analistas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dario Estavan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Analistas FC. Americo Selmo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Filiberto Eate. 1-0. Aristides Aimar succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 28th playminute. Filiberto Eate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severiano Llorienzo in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aristides Aimar got free with Filiberto Eate in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aristides Aimar was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Analistas FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Severiano Llorienzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Aristides Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulises Maore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apolo Abascal in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Feliciano Salomone to make the kick off. Severiano Llorienzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 played minutes Analistas FC got a freekick which was hit by Americo Selmo. Beatniks's Ricardo Fagildo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 56th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ulises Maore but with some difficulty. 66 minutes into the game, Feliciano Salomone recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ulises Maore. Feliciano Salomone showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Ulises Maore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliciano Salomone, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Feliciano Salomone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beatniks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Feliciano Salomone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aristides Aimar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Filiberto Eate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Apolo Abascal got free with Ulises Maore in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Filiberto Eate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Llorienzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Severiano Llorienzo scored 3-1 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filiberto Eate, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Apolo Abascal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Analistas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Beatniks had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
