The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leon Ponzio kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Marcos Hegoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Favila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hernan Eskuin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Marcos Hegoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of RB Salzburgo booed when Nuevaferri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Matia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute Matias Favila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Hegoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Generoso Romo made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Hernan Eskuin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Raul Matia took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Herminio Nataniel to make any attempt to save it. RB Salzburgo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
