The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Danilo Fernandes sped through Lucila FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Baltasar Abalos. Julio Telo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Casimiro Fertus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltasar Abalos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Danilo Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. The supporters of Goritex booed when Lucila FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilario Telesforo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casimiro Fertus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Telo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Casimiro Fertus didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Barros went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 37th minute, Danilo Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Romeo Colas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Baltasar Abalos firmly grabbed it by the left post. Danilo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danilo Fernandes to make the kick off. In the 56th minute Goritex were awarded a corner. Rosendo Isadore went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Goritex's corner Rosendo Isadore fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Baltasar Abalos quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Colas in the 64th minute of play forced Lucila FC's goalkeeper Baltasar Abalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Romeo Colas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goritex fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Romeo Colas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. In the 88th match minute, Lucila FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Pedroso to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Lucila FC's zone, Danilo Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltasar Abalos came out of the goal and Danilo Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Julio Telo came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Lucila FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julio Telo couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ladislao Barros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Casimiro Fertus. That made the score 3-2 in the 93 minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lucila FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Goritex.
