Despedida's Lisandro Ler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigio Laurentzi in the 41st minute of play. Lisandro Ler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Sedeni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Despedida players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ayajasco AFC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonas Umea made a kick off. If Jonas Umea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cesar Sedeni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lisandro Ler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ayajasco AFC's zone, Jonas Umea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Cordarryl came out of the goal and Jonas Umea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristobal Oskarbi kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The Despedida manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Ayajasco AFC to win.
