But to his dismay, Arnaldo Milian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Arnaldo Milian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the game, Agustin Barbosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Racing Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mercedes FC the free kick. In the 21st minute, Agustin Barbosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ambrosio Tajo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Leon Benvide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Racing Club defense, Ambrosio Tajo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leon Benvide. The Racing Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leon Benvide should have stopped the shot. In the 61st minute, Ambrosio Tajo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute Severino Gartzen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Benvide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosio Tajo in the 68th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Leon Benvide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
