Leonel Acevedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Chaco's goalkeeper Leonel Acevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Deportivo Chaco's Leonel Acevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayetano Matxin in the 33rd minute of play. Cayetano Matxin took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonel Acevedo. Leonel Acevedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 37 played minutes Arizona got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Mundo. Silvestre Chucho made in the 46th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Apolo Ermengol. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo Refugio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Severiano Pereyra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Leonel Acevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gavino Paez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Horacio Truylos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severiano Pereyra might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Acevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severiano Pereyra ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Deportivo Chaco's Leonel Acevedo got control of the ball when Cayetano Matxin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonel Acevedo made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Cayetano Matxin sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th minute Freddy Cresenciano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Arizona supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Arizona would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
