Edgard Heriberto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gavino Gaspard came out and tried to block the shot, but Edgard Heriberto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. Gavino Gaspard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maximino Niva went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the match, Deportivo Chaco's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Chepe came free, but Leonel Acevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Uriel Chepe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gavino Gaspard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximino Niva in the 44th minute. The The Strokes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gavino Gaspard should have stopped the shot. Leonel Acevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfredo Quintun in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Arsenio Chano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonel Acevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uriel Chepe in the 88th minute.
