Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Prudencio Baladi kicked off to start the match. Edelmiro Inko scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elias Harri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudencio Baladi in the 10th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Elias Harri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Edelmiro Inko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Harri came out of the goal and Edelmiro Inko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Newells Old Boys defense, Prudencio Baladi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elias Harri. The Newells Old Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elias Harri should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudencio Baladi in the 24th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Elias Harri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edelmiro Inko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Harri having to interfere. Kevhyn AFC's Gonzalo Jesco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Pelagius in the 30th minute of play. 1-2 became the score in the 36th minute when Rogelio Loren elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Edelmiro Inko blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elias Harri having to make a save. Elias Harri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edelmiro Inko, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half Kevhyn AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Pelagius stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 67 played minutes Kevhyn AFC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Oier. Gonzalo Jesco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Loren in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Benito Nalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's Rogelio Loren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gonzalo Jesco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Bernardo Pelagius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 79 minutes, Honorato Laurentzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newells Old Boys and the Kevhyn AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Honorato Laurentzi got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Elias Harri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 94th minute Bernardo Pelagius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Jesco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 96 minutes, Bernardo Pelagius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newells Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Pelagius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Kevhyn AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
