In the 10th match minute, Villa Adriana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Savier to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Rogelio Loren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newells Old Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogelio Loren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hilario Obano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hilario Obano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Pelagius in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Rogelio Loren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 19 minutes, Rogelio Loren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newells Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Loren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Newells Old Boys's Elias Harri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Faro in the 23rd minute of play. Hilario Obano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Pelagius, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, Villa Adriana's Basilio Theodore got a free kick in the 33rd minute. When Newells Old Boys's Bernardo Pelagius in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Elias Harri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felix Faro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felix Faro to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Villa Adriana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Alonso to maneuver through the defense. Fidel Venceslao hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, Agustin Katia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Villa Adriana's Felix Faro got a free kick in the 59th minute. The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Villa Adriana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basilio Theodore didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Newells Old Boys's Agustin Katia tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Villa Adriana's Hilario Obano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Pelagius in the 65th minute of play. With his leg Hilario Obano managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Newells Old Boys's Rogelio Loren fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Felix Faro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Harri came out of the goal and Felix Faro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Newells Old Boys defense, Basilio Savier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elias Harri. The Newells Old Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elias Harri should have stopped the shot. Felix Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Harri having to interfere. Basilio Savier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elias Harri having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Felix Faro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Harri came out of the goal and Felix Faro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Basilio Theodore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basilio Savier in the 82nd minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Elias Harri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Faro kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. With a little luck, Villa Adriana's Hilario Obano got control of the ball when Rogelio Loren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felix Faro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Elias Harri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 97 minutes, Bernardo Pelagius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newells Old Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Pelagius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Villa Adriana fully deserved thier win.
