The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celedonio Barbosa in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luisito Bide saved Viva Peron from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Patxi during the 17th minute. When Mariano Stephen came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Cafayete FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Stephen couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute Mariano Stephen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Bide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cafayete FC's Ramon Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Filipo in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Cafayete FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Lopes to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Cafayete FC's goalkeeper Ramon Santana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aurelio Procopio. Aurelio Procopio succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 35th playminute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celedonio Barbosa in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luisito Bide saved Viva Peron from getting behind. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Stephen to make the kick off. The supporters of Cafayete FC booed when Viva Peron was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Evangelista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viva Peron's Luisito Bide proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Viva Peron from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Viva Peron fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cafayete FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
